Living Compassionately
Experience deep connection with yourself and others
Learn to integrate Compassionate Communication into your daily life
Friday September 6 - Sunday September 8, 2013, York
Children welcome
This is a provisional date at the moment - contact us for more information or check back soon.
This retreat is a chance to improve your understanding and skills in Compassionate or Nonviolent Communication (NVC), whilst enjoying the peace and beauty of the West Yorkshire countryside. Unusually for such a retreat, we welcome those with children, as well as adults on their own. Some childcare support is available and we will work with you to find ways to enable both parents and children to benefit from the time together.
How we may spend our time
We will offer flexibility and choice in activities, using Nonviolent Communication (NVC) principles as the basis of our decision-making. We will have opening and closing circles each day for sharing and planning our time.
The needs of all those present—adults and children—matter to us. If you bring children with you, there will be support available for them and you. Babies-in-arms will be welcome in workshop spaces.
What we offer in the workshops is based on Nonviolent Communication ™ and the work of Marshall Rosenberg (see www.cnvc.org for more information).
Some possibilities are:
open spaces for everyone to connect
regular empathy spaces
empathy and appreciation walks
Body NVC
NVC Living Energy of Needs
practicing NVC with children
mediation learning and practice ·
working with 'No' (including working with 'No' with children)
one-to-one spaces
role play of real-life issues
song, dance, movement
and more – remembering, everything is optional!
Suitable for beginners or those experienced in NVC.
The facilitators
Clare Palmer and Olga Nguyen
Olga Nguyen has been practicing NVC since 2005 and sharing it since 2007. She is a Certified NVC Trainer in waiting (for CNVC paperwork and an announcement). Olga's children are 8 and 2 years old. NVC has brought more understanding, peace, harmony, joy and connection to Olga's family and work life. This fuels Olga’s passion for sharing NVC, as does hearing from her course participants how much NVC has helped them. See www.hearttoheartconnection.co.uk
